The recent Nintendo Switch OLED announcement is one of the biggest games announcements any console have ever done. How much should I buy it? Here’s what I consider to be the most important benefits of the OLED screen –

It should be more than the Switch Lite

I’m pretty sure my initial impressions of this console, which cost $300 and was released in early 2018, were the polar opposite of what Nintendo had in mind. I was expecting a $300 handheld with an Nvidia Tegra X1 CPU, 4K-resolution screen and the ability to stream in up to 4K Ultra HD video. I can’t say I had much hope for anything else but a complete overhaul. Yet Nintendo surprised me by producing an ultra power-packed console withHow about Nintendo Switch OLED?

And you know that, unlike most consoles, you’ll be able to use the included Joy-Con — the controller that Nintendo calls the R-Type — to use an OLED screen. This means you can play Switch games, and the more you play, the more vibrant, colorful and detailed the OLED screen will become.

An OLED screen is also much brighter and more colorful on the Switch than the standard flat
